Director of Branch Operations

Role:

The Director of Branch Operations will be responsible for working alongside and reporting to the President to deliver the strategic vision of the brokerage. This individual will be a positive, dynamic, and strong people leader who desires the challenge of leading, growing, and mentoring frontline brokerage teams in a hybrid and flexible work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading, driving and supporting a frontline broker team through the implementation of Whitley’s overall strategy, operating plan, administrative budgets and processes
  • Overseeing the branch facilities and operations at mul-tiple locations (Belleville, Trenton, Stirling)
  • Maintaining an open and transparent policy to monitor developments and workload within the team and providing support as required
  • Supporting Whitley in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with carriers
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing Personal & Com-mercial Insurance team members to achieve desired personal and organizational objectives
  • Leading, managing, and establishing performance ex-pectations for multiple teams
  • Developing and establishing operating policies con-sistent with Whitley’s strategic vision and objectives and ensuring their adequate execution
  • Collaborating with the President on financial measure-ments and analysis to evaluate and establish Whitley’s business operations and to determine/forecast hiring decisions
  • Collaborating with the President on budget, goal setting, and annual compensation increases
  • Maintaining company’s best practices while ensuring legal compliancy and establishing new ones to stay competitive in the insurance marketplace
  • Exhibiting leadership style that fosters a culture of in-novation, creativity, accountability and collaboration

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of broker office management ex-perience in the insurance industry
  • Bachelor degree in Business Management or related business experience
  • Proven experience leading a team is an asset, but the desire to lead is just as valuable
  • CAIB, CRM CIP or FCIP designation an asset
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance brokerage busi-ness practices and processes
  • Understand how products and services impact client needs and develop processes to improve quality
  • A team player who is friendly, and collaborative
  • Strong initiative, leadership and strategic thinking
  • Ability to work independently and with all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and ne-gotiation skills required to affect change and to build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to travel between branch locations

Whitley offices are hiring for experienced Insurance Sales Executives/Producers, specializing in new business sales through prospecting activities and generating referrals. Successful candidates will have thorough knowledge of insurance, proven track record of sales success and strong network or centers of influence to generate new business leads/prospects.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall, responsible for sales production, client relationships, insurer relationships
  • Represent Whitley organization professionally in the marketplace
  • Accountable to track personal progress against company sales plans
  • Establish and maintain client relationships with ability to identify their needs and mitigate risks
  • Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service. Service can include responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarification
  • Maintain a strong work ethic with a total commitment to success each and every day.

  • Communicate with the President of Whitley to ensure they remain fully informed of all significant sales issues

Requirements:

Personal Lines Account Assistant

Role:

Whitley offices are hiring for a Personal Lines Technical Service Rep. who will be responsible for a variety of administrative duties related to accurate data input and modification of client data. You will act as support for other locations when necessary and provide assistance in general office tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Processing/Date Input:

  • Accurately input and update client data into system in an efficient and timely manner, preventing errors
  • Perform mathematical tasks and calculate percentages, ratios and averages
  • Keep accurate records of policy changes, renewals, cancellations, and discounts for clients
  • Read and understand verbal and written work orders and instructions such as direction from supervisors
  • Create notes and letters with correct wording and/or rate and class

Office Support/Administration:

  • Occasionally provide guidance, instruction, and direction for others
  • Occasionally attend to covering switchboard
  • Process mail for 3 departments and occasionally process incoming and outgoing courier packages
  • Support work overflow from other locations

Customer Service:

  • Maintain communication with other insurance companies when changes occur

Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Min. 1 year administrative experience, preferably in insurance
  • Superb attention to detail and solid communication skills
  • Ability to be a self starter with strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills

Personal Lines Account Manager

Whitley Newman Insurance & Financial Services is hiring for a Personal Lines Account Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for maintaining a book of business, generating new business, servicing client needs, and assisting the produc-er on new business activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to telephone, email and fax enquiries, ensuring a high level of service is maintained
  • Renewal review, recommendations, comparison quotes and remarket when needed
  • Total account sales awareness, cross sell and up sell as much as possible
  • Action all renewals, endorsements and claims
  • Act as a Personal Lines Insurance technical resource to Personal Lines employees and new hires
  • Process change requests on EPIC/company portals, when needed
  • Review and invoice all endorsements (and renewals, if necessary)
  • Issue in-house endorsements and new business on com-pany portals, when needed
  • Release renewals after making appropriate changes , when needed
  • Scan and attach documents to EPIC
  • Quote cross sells and up sell as much as possible
  • Issue pink slips when needed in addition to completing miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Prepare new business documents to be sent for signa-tures, etc.
  • Report order: MVR, Autoplus, HITS
  • Support other members of the team when needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years insurance experience
  • R.I.B.O. is required and preferably working towards C.I.P. or C.A.I.B. designation
  • Client development / relationship manage-ment experience
  • Superb interpersonal and presentation skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to be a self starter with strong written and oral communication skills in addition to strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word and EPIC
