It should go without saying that fireworks are not toys. In Canada, you must be 18 years or older to buy and use fireworks.

Not surprisingly, most incidents involving fireworks are a result of careless usage. According to Health Canada, fireworks-related injuries peak in days surrounding Halloween (20.0%), Victoria Day (15.4%), and Canada Day (8.6%). Due to their potential risks, fireworks should always be handled with safety in mind. Use common sense and follow these safety tips to enjoy a safe and spectacular fireworks display.
