With an Honours B.Sc. from York University, Toronto and a Civil Engineering Technology background, Phil has developed outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. These skills are complemented with an ability to clearly communicate concepts in layman’s terms; something he has worked hard to cultivate through Toastmasters International. He specializes in financial and estate planning using life insurance, mutual funds, RRSP’s, RRIF’s and RESP’s.
Philip is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and a Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS). An avid sailor, Phil lives in Carrying Place, ON with his wife, Wendy. They have two adult children living with disabilities and Phil often helps families dealing with similar financial planning matters around disabilities.
As a professional, Philip has invested a lot of energy developing a strong level of comprehension of various Pension Plans, and the impact they have on the overall investment strategy for individuals. As such he often assists his clients with pre-retirement analysis of their options when dealing with severance packages and early retirement offerings. He manages a significant number of Pension Plans, Employee Health Benefit plans, and Employee Group RRSP’s for businesses throughout the Quinte area. He also works with business owners and their unique needs for partnership agreements, business transition and succession planning.
Philip has a strong ability to clearly educate his clients on principals of successful retirement planning, including tax-efficient strategies and ultimately estate planning.
